Iran to deploy new MAV radar system designed to detect drones

TEHRAN – The chief Khatam al-Anbia Air Defense Base announced on Saturday that an advanced Micro Air Vehicles (MAVs) radar system designed especially to detect drones is to be deployed in the near future in Northern Khorasan Province, eastern Iran.
The newly developed radar system can spot flying objects with a cross section of 0.01, according to Farzad Esmaili.
This is the first time Iran has announced it aims to unveil a radar apparatus to make its sky insecure for drones, which are difficult to detect.
