Stage adaptation of “Paytakht” to tour Canada, U.S., and Europe
TEHRAN – A loose adaption of the popular Iranian TV series “Paytakht” will go on stage in Canada, the United States, and Europe.
“The comic play has been written based on the series and Mohsen Tanabandeh and Ahmad Mehranfar, who are also among the main members of the cast, will direct it,” the manager of the troupe, Mohammad Qods, told the Persian service of ISNA on Monday.
He gave no more details about the story of the play.
Qods said that playwright Arash Abbasi is currently working on the play and Alireza Khamseh and Rima Raminfar are the other members of the cast.
“The play will first go on stage in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver in September, and the next performances will be announced later,” he noted.
Sirus Moqaddam directed four seasons of “Paytakht”, the first of which is about a family that faces problems after migrating to Tehran from the small town of Aliabad in Mazandaran Province.
The tour has been organized by Persia Film Inc in Canada.
