IRGC chief: JCPOA no honorable document for Iranians

April 5, 2016 - 22:10

TEHRAN - Major General Jafari, the commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), has said the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is by no means an honorable document for the Iranian people, Fars news agency reported on Tuesday.

“Although the nuclear resistance of the Iranian nation which forced enemies to change strategy was an honor, this resistance is different from its outcome, part of which was the JCPOA,” the commander noted.

Also, the commander reminded that the JCPOA is a document with an unclear, ambiguous fate, not to be applied as a model to other issues of the country.

We will not welcome war but with the assumption of wide-scale war with the U.S. and its allies we have built our power,” IRGC commander remarks.

On IRGC’s attitude and reaction to recent stances of some countries of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council, the top general said regimes such as Saudi Arabia and Bahrain are modern examples of “political backwardness”.

“IRGC has made preparations to react just in case upon receiving commands,” he said.

The IRGC chief also said Iran has improved its military power with the “assumption” of a full-scale war with the United States.

“We will not welcome war but with the assumption of wide-scale war with the U.S. and its allies we have built our power,” he remarked.
