TEHRAN - Iranian Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli has called for regular meetings with Pakistan for coordinating efforts in controlling borders.

In a meeting with Pakistani Minister of States and Frontier Regions Abdul Qadir Baloch on the sidelines of a UN meeting in Geneva on Tuesday, Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli underlined Tehran's priority for developing cooperation with neighbors, saying increased cooperation between Tehran and Islamabad in campaign against terrorism is a necessity.

""The two countries' borders should be controlled more seriously to prevent trafficking of the drugs produced in Afghanistan via Pakistan to Iran, border crossing by illegal Afghan immigrants through Pakistan to Iran and smuggling of goods and fuel,"" Fars quoted him as saying.

He also underscored the necessity for enhancing cooperation through implementing security agreements and serious fight against gangs and terrorist groups.
