Raul Lozano appointed Iran volleyball coach

Argentine Raul Lozano has been named as the new head coach of Iran volleyball team.

The 59-year-old coach replaced Slobodan Kovac in the Iranian team.
Lozano will be assisted by his countryman Juan Manuel Cichello in the team.
Cichello has already worked in Iran volleyball team as an assistant of Julio Velasco.

Lozano is a very experienced coach who led Poland to silver medal of the World Championship 2006. He was Germany’s coach for two years between 2009 and 2011 as well.

Iran had a poor performance at the 2015 FIVB World Cup finishing in 8th place under tutelagecof Kovac.
Italian coach Andrea Anastasi also was a nominee to be named Iran volleyball coach.
