TEHRAN -- Works by Iranian cartoonists Mahmud-Mohammad Tabrizi and Alireza Pakdel will be put on display at the Golden Smile, the 8th International Biennial of Caricature which opens in Belgrade, Serbia tomorrow.
The cartoonists were among the biennial winners, which had previously been announced in mid September.
Tabrizi won the bronze medal and Pakdel received an honorary diploma at the biennial, which was on the theme of tennis. The biennial runs until December 27.
The golden medal of the event went to Serbian cartoonist Zoran Petrovic and the silver medal was received by Andrei Popov from Russia.
The jury was composed of cartoonists Toso Borkovic from Serbia and Paolo Dalponte from Italy, and scholars Jugoslav Vlahovic and Dijana Milasinovic Maric from Serbia, and Tennis Association of Serbia director Cedomir Soskic.
