TEHRAN -- Tehran’s Seyhun Gallery is currently hosting an exhibition of paintings inspired by the Austrian composer Frantz Schubert’s “Winterreise”.

The paintings have been created by Ario Farzi.

Both “Winterreise” and Farzi’s works infuse the listeners and visitors with a melancholic, strange, and dark feeling, a curator of the gallery said in a press release.

“Winterreise” (Winter Journey) is a song cycle for voice and piano, which was composed for a setting of 24 poems by Wilhelm Müller.

It tells a story of a man who has lost his love, and with a broken heart, leaves his home and ventures out on a winter journey.

The exhibition runs until 12 December.
