Expansion of Tehran-Hanoi Relations Discussed

TEHRAN The Vice-Speaker of Vietnamese Parliament Njuven Phuc Thanh here Wednesday called for the two countries' cooperation at international communities. Making the remark in a meeting with the Iranian Head of Iran-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group Anvari, he called for exchange of experiences between the two countries. He further invited Anvari to visit his country in a near future. Expressing satisfaction with the growing trend of Tehran-Hanoi relations, Anvari said that the Iranian nation still remembers the position of the Vietnamese government in support of Iranian struggle with the U.S. at the eve of victory of the Islamic Revolution. Referring to great potentials in the two countries, he called for expansion of bilateral economic and trade cooperation.

Meanwhile, Phuc Thanh, heading a parliamentary delegation arrived in the city of Isfahan, in Central Iran, Wednesday night. During its one-day visit to Isfahan, the Vietnamese delegation is to visit historical sites of the city. The Vietnamese delegation arrived in Tehran Monday at the invitation of Majlis Vice-Speaker Hojjatoleslam Hassan Ruhani to discuss promotion of bilateral parliamentary cooperation. (IRNA)
