IRGC Commander: Government of Khatami at Service of People

TEHRAN The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Commander Major General Rahim Safavi said at the pre-sermon speech that Khordad 4 is a saga in the history of the Iranian nation and that the government of President Mohammad Khata IRGC commander opined that the massive turnout at the presidential elections made the enemies dispondent of their designs against the Islamic Revolution. General Safavi stated that the continuation of construction as a valuable asset of President Khatami's services, could continue to flourish under an environment of security, tranquility and national unity.
The IRGC commander stated that national security is like the arrangement of chain links closely intertwined with matters of the nation's foreign and domestic policies, economy and that of general cultural issue. Safavi stated that the presence of the United States of America in Afghanistan, expansion of NATO Eastward towards Southeast Asia is a definite threat against the national security of Iran. The major general went on to say that simultaneous with its responsibility for maintaining national security, IRGC had carried out over 1,650 infra-structure reconstruction projects.
The IRGC commander added that over seventy percent of the infra-structure projects have been accomplished and are on the stream and that the rest will soon be finished. He pointed out that the Islamic Republic of Iran has been transformed into a status that most of the Islamic nations take it as a model for restructuring their systems' and that the enjoyment of such a status springs from the teachings of the Holy Qoran, The IRGC commander stressed that the leadership of the supreme religious jurisprudent, national unity and deep-rooted belief in Islamic values and revolutionary ideals are the three vital factors in Iran's victory and success in the eight-year Sacred Def (IRNA)
