VICTORIA, Canada - Two teenage girls were sentenced Tuesday to six months in prison in the beating death of a 14-year-old girl, officials here said. The defendants, 15 and 16, were part of a group of seven youths accused in the death of 14-year-old Reena Virk, who was beaten and left to die under a bridge last November. During the trial, one of the defendants said the victim had stolen her boyfriend.
A third defendant in the case, 14 years old, was placed on probation. Earlier this month, two other girls were sentenced to one and a half years in prison in the case. (AFP)
