DAMASCUS Iranian Ambassador to Damascus Mohammad Hassan Akhtari said Thursday that Tehran-Damascus relations should serve as a model for relations between Iran and other Arab nations. In an interview with the London-based daily Al-Hawadith, he said Iran will continue to support Syria in its struggle with the Zionist regime for liberating Arab lands occupied by the Zionist regime. The Iranian ambassador also told the Arabic daily that Iran would continue to support Lebanon in its demand for the unconditional compliance by the Zionist regime with the UN Security Council Resolution 425.
The resolution, adopted by the UN Security Council 20 years ago, calls for unconditional withdrawal of the Zionist forces from Southern Lebanon. The Iranian ambassador also told the daily that Washington continues to support state terrorism of the Zionist regime. (IRNA)
