200 Majlis Representatives Back Leader's Remarks

TEHRAN More than 200 Majlis representatives signed a letter supporting the recent remarks made by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on the event of Ashura and its outcoming teachings. In their letter, the deputies demanded the aversion of political, economic and cultural diversions by the supervising organizations, government, Majlis, Judiciary, and the Guardian Council. The letter, sent to the Leader, notes that the Leader's alerting warning to learn from the event of Ashura in order to avert the repetition of it in the history of the Islamic Revolution, and his call on the country's figures to refrain from worldly desires, and political, economic and cultural diversions shook any committed and obedient Muslim. It made all to reconsider and focus on the political, economic and cultural trends of the society.

The letter pinpointed that the Majlis representatives fully support the guidelines and warnings of Leader of the Islamic Revolution, while deeming their stance in abidance by the Leader'; as the maintenance and consolidation of the Islamic system's pillars. Emphasizing on the need for the Judiciary reaction toward the diversions of worldly and corrupt figures, the letter continues that the Judiciary should act impartially to materialize social justice; and with the cooperation of the Supervising Committee on the Press should avert the publicity, harmful to the pillars of the Islamic Revolution. Meanwhile, the Majlis representatives, in the letter, considered the stance of the Leader in the foreign and domestic policies stemmed within the nation's and officials' calls, while reiterating that no individual and official would permit himself to refrain from them.
