ALMATY - President Safar Murat Niazov of Turkmenistan said that his country is to increase the capacity of its gas export through Iran promptly. Niazov who was talking to the latest edition of Asia Economica weekly in Almaty added Ashkabat has received order from Iran for further export of Turkmenistan gas through Iran. The president underlined the significance of prompting the development project for transfer of Turkmenistan gas to Turkey and West Europe through Iran. The first phase of project for transfer of Turkmenistan gas via Iran was accomplished in late 1997.
